RICHVILLE – Richville is taking its $5,000 winnings from an online game and pulling community together again to finish their dream of a new playground.
The village didn’t win first place in the Reader’s Digest contest last month, but came in 17th, enough for $5,000 to go toward a new playground, to replace the one that was closed.
Now the Playground Committee is planning to host “Swing Into Spring Family Fun Day” April 28 to celebrate their success and to raise money for a swing set.
The play set they have ordered for the playground doesn’t come with swings, so from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Richville Fire Hall, there will be live music from Straightforward and The Alan Betrus Band, games including a cake walk, dancing, karaoke contest, raffles, an auction, food and beverages.
Admission $1 or $5 for a family.
All of the proceeds will go toward the swing set purchase for playground.
