WADDINGTON -- The New York Power Authority (NYPA) will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Island View Park, Main Street, to formally unveil $1.4 million in recreational improvements there Monday, July 17, at 10 a.m.
The new facilities include a new, spacious picnic pavilion with a central hearth, and a separate building containing bathrooms and catering facilities.
Both buildings are handicapped accessible.
NYPA, which owns and operates the park, funded the work.
Representatives from the New York Power Authority, including its Vice Chairman Eugene L. Nicandri, and Ed Rider, regional manager for Northern New York, will be joined by Waddington Village Mayor Janet Otto-Cassada, and other local elected officials.
