CANTON – The public is invited to The TAUNY Center for a reunion of former J.J. Newberry's employees and customers Saturday, Oct. 1, at 2 p.m., as a tribute to the building's heritage as the former J.J. Newberry's.
A recent notice in local newspapers yielded dozens of former managers and clerks (or their children), many of whom will be in attendance at the event.
Enjoy a small exhibit on Newberry's history, listen to employees from the 1930s until the 1990s swap stories, and chime in with some of your own.
Feel free to bring a favorite purchase for show-and-tell, and enjoy a root beer float, generously donated by Stewart's Shops.
