Resident Bishop Mark J. Webb to be guest preacher at Canton United Methodist Church Nov. 23

CANTON -- Resident Bishop Mark J. Webb of The Upper New York Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church will be the guest preacher at Canton United Methodist Church, 41 Court St. Sunday, Nov. 23.

He will present Christ the King Thanksgiving Sunday at thr 10 a.m. worship.

Webb was assigned to serve as the Episcopalleader of the Upper New York Area effective Sept. 1, 2012. The Upper New YorkConference of The United Methodist Church was created when the New York churches of four former conferences -- NorthCentral New York, Troy, Western New York and Wyoming Conference in 2010 --united to better servethe ministry needs of the local church and the community. Total membership is more than 168,000.

Webb is a native of Williamsport, Pa.and has a wife named Jodi and two sons. A time of refreshments andvisitation will follow the worship.
