Remington Art Museum in Ogdensburg accepting entries for juried art exhibit

OGDENSBURG -- The Frederic Remington Art Museum, 303 Washington Street, will hold its 2012 NYS Juried Art Exhibit September 29, 2012 through January 6, 2013.

The exhibit is open to adult artists working in New York State. The deadline for submissions is August 27.

Entries may be made through email to lafo@fredericremington.org, or on disk. Two-dimensional and three-dimensional works made within the last five years are eligible including paintings, prints, drawings, sculpture, ceramics, photographs, computer generated art, and mixed media. Two-dimensional work must not exceed 36” wide by 72” high. Sculpture must not exceed 60” high by 24” wide and deep.

Submissions should include up to three digital files on CD, with the completed entry form and payment of $10 for museum members, or $20 for non-members. Works submitted must have been completed in the past five years, and have never been exhibited at the Remington before.

The juror is artist Adam M. Huckle, a 5-12th grade art teacher at Madrid-Waddington Central School and Art Methods adjunct instructor at St. Lawrence University. Adam is a painter, photographer and sculptor with a Surrealist slant to his work. He has shown work at the Frederic Remington Art Museum, the Gibson Gallery at SUNY Potsdam, Creative Spirit Gallery in Potsdam NY, and has had photography featured in Adirondack Life Magazine. He has a degree in Fine Art Photography from Syracuse University, NY State K-12 Art certification from St. Lawrence University and a masters degree in Instructional Technology from SUNY Potsdam.
