OGDENSBURG -- The Rediscovering Your Backyard Bridal Expo will be held Sunday, Feb. 24 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Expo highlights will include local vendors, a fashion show, seminars and a cake dive with a $300 cash prize.

North Country vendors will have everything needed for planning a wedding, including announcements, invitations, event planners, decorators, bridal shops, wineries, DJs, photographers, florists, tent and party rentals, Bachelorette parties and showers, limousines, make-up artists, bakeries, local food producers, favors and gift registries.

Seminars and demonstrations will cover all aspects of planning a wedding and beginning life as a married couple.

A fashion show will be held at 1 p.m.

Brides can register at the door for the chance to be chosen to participate in the cake dive. A 50/50 raffle will also be held and vendors will have items available for purchase.

The event is sponsored by Assemblywoman Addie Russell, the Zonta Club, the Boys & Girls Club, 96.7 YES-FM, Q Country 102.9, PAC 98.7 and the Ogdensburg Bridge & Port Authority.

Russell registered with local antique stores and used vendors throughout the North Country when planning her own wedding.

The expo will showcase local resources available to North Country brides. Shopping locally is vital for the community and local businesses are available to help plan your special day.

The expo will be held in the former Brecon Ridge/Mitel Building, 120 Commerce Park Dr., building one, of the Ogdensburg Bridge & Port Authority Industrial Park, just off Route 37.

A $2 donation at the door will benefit the Zonta Club and Boys and Girls Club.

For more information, contact the Zonta Club’s Fundraising Chairperson Colleen Anderson at 323-8075 or Assemblywoman Addie J. Russell’s Watertown office at 786-0284.

Vendors interested in a booth at the show should email judy@addierussell.com or colleenmarieanderson@gmail.com.
