POTSDAM -- The American Red Cross, 73 Market St., will host a babysitter’s training class for ages 11 to 15 years old from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 17.
The cost is $65. The course builds confidence to hold, feed, and care for infants and toddlers, work with children safely, and deal with emergencies. It also teaches entrepreneurial and career development skills. Activities include videos, role-play, take-home training materials, and discussions to teach various skills. Skills that will be taught include diapering, feeding, age-appropriate activities, handling bedtime and disciplinary issues, safety hazards, communicating with parents, and finding and interviewing for babysitting jobs.
