Red Cross to hold blood drives across county during April

The following Red Cross blood drives are scheduled at locations in St. Lawrence County:

April 17 and 18, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., SUNY Canton Campus Center, 34 Cornell Drive;

April 17, 1-6 p.m., St Lawrence University, 23 Romoda Dr., Canton;

April 19, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Edwards Knox Central School, 2512 County Route 24;

April 19, 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Seaway Technical Center BOCES, 7225 State Highway 56

April 20, 3-7 p.m., Lisbon Hepburn Library, 6899 County Route 10; April 27, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., United Helpers MOSAIC, United Helpers MOSAIC, 100 Ford St.;

April 23, 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., and April 24, 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., State University of New York Potsdam, 44 Pierrepont Ave.;

April 27, 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Canton Potsdam Hospital, 50 Leroy St., Potsdam;

April 28, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Rensselaer Falls Fire Department, 424 Rensselaer St.;

April 29, 8 a.m.-noon, Appleton Arena, Miner Street Rd, Canton; April 30, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Alcoa-Work Fit Center, 1814 State Highway 131, Massena;

All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients.

A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.

High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
