CANTON -- The Village Board is inviting the public to a reception welcoming Dr. Zvi Szafran, SUNY Canton's new president, to the community in an from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, at TAUNY, 53 Main St.

Mayor Ashley says “The Village is excited to be part of inauguration week for Dr. Szafran and his family. SUNY Canton is a large part of our community that makes a solid educational and economic impact not only in the village, but also to the region. We are grateful to have already started a positive partnership and look forward to working closely with Dr. Szafran and SUNY Canton to maintain and increase opportunities in our area. Dr. Joseph Kennedy was an outstanding leader for nineteen years, and left a solid legacy of accomplishments for Zvi to build upon."

SUNY Canton offers programing that in many cases are unique and focused on specific fields of study that allow students to be competitive in the regional job market.
