POTSDAM – The Cinema 10 film series continues March 26 with the 2017 film “The Quest.”
The U.S. film directed by Jonathan Olshefski was filmed over nearly a decade, and tells the story of one family and their unwavering devotion to their neighborhood.
Chronicling the life and struggles of an independent hip-hop producer in North Philadelphia, the film has been heralded for its vérité intimacy, beauty, and exploration of race and class.
David Fear in Rolling Stone says the 104-minute film “speaks volumes about working-class life and the necessity of community, parenting, perseverance, speaking out, speaking up, hope.”
“The Quest” is not rated, but contains some violence.
All Cinema 10 films are shown on Monday evenings at 7:15 in the Roxy Theater in Potsdam.
Tickets are $5.50 general admission and $45 per season or $4.50 student/senior and $35 per season.
Cinema 10 is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts.
