CANTON – Poet and essayist Peter Campion will speak and read from recent work in an appearance at St. Lawrence University on Thursday, Oct. 28, at 8 p.m. in the Common Room of Sykes Residence Hall. The event, part of the University's Writers Series, is open to the public, free of charge.
Campion is the author of two poetry collections, Other People (2005) and The Lions (2009). He is the recipient of a Stegner Fellowship and Jones Lectureship at Stanford University, a Pushcart Prize, a Theodore Morrison Fellowship at the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference and the Joseph Brodsky Rome Prize from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. His poems and prose have appeared in a wide variety of magazines and journals. Campion edits the journal Literary Imagination, which is published by Oxford University Press.
