CANTON -- Local Living Venture will offer the workshop "Primitive Fire Starting and Sweat Lodge," teaching methods of the ancient and basic skill of starting a fire, without matches on May 30.
The workshop is presented by Len Mackey, a yoga and African music instructor at St. Lawrence University .
A sweat lodge ceremony will follow for those who are interested. Participants are encouraged to bring a bathing suit and plenty of drinking.
The event will take place by reservation only, beginning at 2 p.m. and will last approximately three to four hours.
There is a suggested donation of $24, $45 couples, $12 student. Scholarships are available upon request.
