CANTON — The Friends of Owen D. Young and Launders Libraries’ Pre-Commencement Lecture at St. Lawrence University will be delivered by Robert Thacker, Dana Professor of Canadian Studies and English, at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, in Griffiths Arts Center, room 123.
The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
In his lecture, titled “Of Scholarship and Teaching,” Thacker will take up the ways his scholarship -- on Canada, the North American West, Willa Cather, and especially Alice Munro -- has informed and invigorated his teaching at St. Lawrence over the past 35 years. 315-229-5483.
