BRASHER – Pamoja International Cultural Exchange Inc. (PICEI) will again stage “The Power Wheels Derby” for ages 3 to 8 years old, followed by free “Movies under the Stars” on Saturday, July 29, starting at 2 p.m.
The events will take place at the PICEI Annex "Tewatennihah" office, 600 Smith Road, Suite A.
The derby will take place from 2-4 p.m. Participants can register for a donation of $5 per driver on-line at www.picei.org, or by calling 1-866-660-5116.
Children who register to race will have to supply their own power wheel. There is a limit of two cars per child that can be entered. Each child must wear head gear and have a pit crew of two people.
Trophies will be given to the winners.
Entertainment will be from 4 p.m. to dusk, when movies will start.
Refreshments will be available throughout the day.
There will be one free door prize ticket given to each person who attends.
A Chinese auction drawing will take place at 6 p.m.
Tickets for the lotto/cash vase can be purchased at the following stores Akwesasne Mini Mart, Keegans tobacco, Mohawk Plumbing, Currency Exchange/Market Store on Route 37 and Smoker’s Hideaway in Akwesasne, or by contacting PICEI directly.
There are limited sponsorships available for the event on a first-come, first-served basis.
