MASSENA -- The New York Power Authority will continue its “Free Friday Matinees” in February with showings of contemporary movies at the Hawkins Point Visitors Center.
NYPA will show a selection of movies in the visitors center auditorium every Friday at 1:30 p.m. Free popcorn will be available.
The February schedule will include:
• Feb. 1: “Bridal Fever” (2010). A book publisher’s assistant has all but given up on love until she is assigned the editing job of a famous romance novelist’s memoirs.
• Feb. 8: “For the Love of Grace” (2008). A firefighter deals with the untimely death of his wife while trying to keep his mind on his job.
• Feb. 15: “The Way” (2010). A father heads overseas to recover the body of his estranged son who died while traveling the “El Camino de Santiago,” and decides to take the pilgrimage himself.
• Feb. 22: “Crooked Arrows” (2012). A mixed-blood Native American, eager to modernize his reservation, must prove himself to his father, the traditionalist Tribal Chairman, when he begins coaching the reservation's high school lacrosse team.
The visitor’s center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. It will be closed Monday, Feb. 18 for President’s Day. From Feb. 19 through Feb. 22, NYPA will sponsor free family films at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to coincide with the school winter break.
