The Potsdam Recreation Department would like to announce the opening of Pine St. Arena for the 2012-13 ice skating season. The Arena will open Saturday, Oct. 13. Public skating sessions will be Monday, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 1:45-3:45 and Wednesdays 1:45-2:45p.m. through Nov. 9 and Mondays through

Fridays from 1:45-2:45 after Nov. 9. Also, Thursdays from 6-7 p.m. and Sundays from 12:30-2 p.m. Open hockey sessions are Monday through Friday from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. There will also be Youth Open Hockey sessions during holidays from 10:45-11:45 a.m. This year there will special Public Skating times for parent-tots on

Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10-11 a.m and a Senior Skate on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 – 11 a.m.

The Potsdam Recreation Department is now offering rental skates through a grant received from the St. Lawrence County Health Initiative’s Creating Healthy Places project. The rental skates are available for $3 per pair, per session.

If a group or team is looking for ice rental times, please call the Recreation office at 265-4030 for all available times. There is also ice slots available for private birthday parties with use of the upstairs meeting room.
