POTSDAM -- Cinema 10 continues its fall 2014 season Monday, Oct. 20 with a screening of "Cesar Chavez", which tells the story of the Mexican-American civil rights leader and labor organizer.
Cinema 10 films screen on Mondays at 7:15 p.m. at the Roxy Theater, 20 Main St.
Tickets are $3.50 individual/$25 season tickets for students and seniors, and $4.50 individuals/$35 season tickets for general admission.
Chavez is torn between his family responsibilities and his dedication to securing a fair wage for farm workers. Claudia Puig of USA Today writes that the film is powered by a strong cast, with Michael Peña embodying “the determination, idealism and gentle spirit of Chavez in an appealingly subtle performance.” This first predominately English-language film by Diego Luna weaves Chavez’s personal life into the storytelling for a “truly interesting” biopic, says Bill Zweker of the Chicago Sun-Times.
