POTSDAM -- As part of voter education efforts around the issue of dissolution of the Village of Potsdam on the ballot for Nov. 8, there will be another rebroadcast of the Sept. 12 public hearing on Oct. 3 and 4 at 7:30 pm on WCKN, Time Warner Channel 30.
In addition, the civic partners -- the St. Lawrence County American Association of University Women (AAUW), the SLC League of Women Voters (LWV), the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce, and WCKN’s North Country Matters -- will record the next dissolution public information meeting. That public meeting, 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, in the meeting room above the Potsdam Police Station, on Elm Street, will feature two officials from Seneca Falls, N.Y., which last year voted to dissolve.
Voters can learn more and read the study committee’s final recommendations and plan on-line at http://www.cgr.org/potsdam/.
The full Sept. 12 Potsdam hearing is also available on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaBCDBiZFF0&feature=channel_video_title.
In addition to rebroadcasts of the public hearing videos, the civic partners are also planning a call-in show in WCKN on Oct. 28 to answer any questions and to air public opinion about the dissolution vote. Some members of the Potsdam Dissolution Committee have agreed to be on hand to respond to questions and provide factual information.
