POTSDAM -- The St. Lawrence Leadership Institute is the next topic looked at by North Country Matters, the local video public affairs magazine produced at WCKN, at 7:30 pm on March 3 and 4.
The board president, Pat McKeown sat down with AAUW’s Donna Seymour and Bess Kirnie, a former SLLI graduate and current board member, to talk about the history of the project, what it works to accomplish, and how to apply to become a 2014-15 class member.
The St. Lawrence Leadership Institute is an apolitical, not-for-profit organization based in Canton. Its mission is to foster the development of emerging and existing leaders for the advancement of St. Lawrence County and its communities. Bess Kirnie spoke with Mary Jones, the Director of Family Support Services, Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley. They talked about the tragedy of suicide and how it affects the North Country.
