POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Public Museum, 2 Civic St., will host a book signing for the new book, "St. Lawrence County in the War of 1812: Folly and Mischief" by John M. Austin. The signing will be held Dec. 14 from 1 to 3 p.m. Individuals may bring their copies of the book for the author to sign and books will also be available for purchase.
Austin is a retired teacher who lives in DeKalb. He has researched and compiled lists of soldiers from St, Lawrence County in both the Civil War and the War of 1812. He is a member of the St. Lawrence County Historical Association and enjoys using lesser-known resources for genealogical and historical research. Refreshments will be available.
