CANTON -- Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County will host an Ag Literacy Week March 17-21.
Volunteers will read “Who Grew My Soup?” by Tom Darbyshire and illustrated by C.F. Payne, a book about food and agriculture, to second graders throughout the county. Volunteer readers include extension staff, local farmers, FFA students and 4-H youth.
After listening to the story, students will participate in an activity featuring “MyPlate,” eating at least five servings of vegetables, and introducing actual farmers that grow their favorite vegetables.
Volunteers are willing to visit at other times during the spring and to other grades.
To schedule a visit contact Anita Morrill at amr28@cornell.edu or 379-9192.
