POTSDAM -- The Fred W. Cleveland Computer Center at Potsdam Public Library, 2 Park St., recently released its schedule of upcoming classes. While many of the classes are offered free of charge, pre-registration is required by calling 265-7230. Appointments may also be made for individualized assistance with technology questions. The upcoming schedule is as follows:

Introduction to Microsoft Word, Tuesday, Aug. 23, 1:30- 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 27, 1:30 - 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 11, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.; Participants will learn the skills needed to construct a document including a table using Word.

Selling on eBay, Tuesday, Aug. 30, 1 - 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 21, 5 - 7 p.m.; Class will cover registering on eBay, setting up a PayPal account and listing items to sell. Basic computer skills and email account required. Credit card or bank routing number necessary to register with PayPal one half hour before class begins, if necessary.

Using Google Drive, Thursday, Sept. 8, 1 - 2:30 p.m.; Learn to use Drive to create documents, spreadsheets and slide presentations as well as safely store files to be accessed anywhere with internet access.

Internet Safety, Monday, Sept. 12, 5 - 7 p.m.; Class will cover various hazards associated with surfing the web, including malware and anti-virus programs. Participants may bring their own laptop or device.

Introduction to Computers, Tuesday, Sept. 13, 1:30- 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 4, 1:30 - 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 15, 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.; Participants will be introduced to the creation of files and folders, how and where to save them, and how to copy from one document to another

Internet Basics, Thursday, Sept. 15, 2:30 p.m.; Introduction to using email, surfing the internet, making online purchases and vocabulary of computer and internet use.

QuickBooks Basics, Tuesday, Sept. 27, Wednesday, Sept. 28, Thursday, Sept. 29, 5:30 - 8 p.m.; Three session class will cover the basics of company set up, customer set up and billing, vendor set up and paying bills, overview of payroll set up, bank reconciliation and generation reports. A class fee of $50 covers all three sessions and must be received on or before Tuesday, Sept. 13.

Health Insurance Information Session, Wednesday, Oct. 5, 1 - 2:30 p.m.; Fidelis Care representatives will be available to answer questions about health coverage.
