CANTON -- The Potsdam Humane Society (PHS) will host its 4th annual “Pars for Paws Golf Tournament” Friday, July 25 at Partridge Run Country Club, 70 Sullivan Dr.

Tournament registration is at noon followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

The format features four-person teams at a cost of $60 per player, which includes all green fees, cart fees and dinner.

“This is going to be a great day of golf, fun, food and prizes…all of which benefits PHS,” said Suzanne Smith, PHS board member and tournament chair.

Contests include longest drive and closest to the pin as well as a chance to win a hole-in-one prize of $10,000 on a designated hole.

“Every year we get a great turnout and wonderful support. We invite all animal-loving golfers to join us. It’s also a terrific opportunity for young golfers and their families to play together for a great cause,” Smith said.

Teams and individuals can register by calling Roger Dusharm at 323-7041.

Registration forms are also available at the Potsdam animal shelter building and at Partridge Run Country Club or can be downloaded from www.potsdamhumanesociety.org and www.partridgerungolf.com.

The animal shelter provides services to 1,200 animals in 11 towns within St. Lawrence County, as well as educational programs for the community and local schools, a Pets for Veterans program, and a low-cost spay/neuter program.

All money raised from the tournament support the humane society and its programs.

For more information, contact the shelter at 265-3199.
