Ariana Frascatore paints the Times Square “Jumbotran” for Potsdam High School's upcoming "A Night on Broadway."

POTSDAM -- Potsdam High School will present the Broadway revue "A Night on Broadway" Friday, May 31 at 8 p.m.

The show will feature selections from classics like “Anything Goes,” “Phantom of the Opera,” and “Les Miserables,” as well as newer shows such as “Hairspray.” Students will also perform selections from lesser known musicals, including “Next to Normal” and “13.”

“This has been a very student-motivated and driven project. Noah Chichester, a junior at Potsdam HS, came to me with the idea to raise funds for new lighting instruments and wireless microphones since ours are very out-dated,” said Drama Club Adviser Tammy Madeja.

“While we hope to raise funds to upgrade lighting and sound equipment, it really isn’t just about the money. We all love performing in music theater and the backstage work that goes into making a production possible,” said junior Ariana Frascatore.

Tickets will be $5 at the Potsdam High School office, A.A. Kingston Middle School main office and from cast members. Tickets may be put on reserve by contacting Madeja at tmadeja@potsdam.k12.ny.us.

All proceeds will be used to purchase new lighting and sound equipment for the school.

Donations to the drama club may be mailed to the high school, 29 Leroy Street, Potsdam, NY 13676. Checks can be made payable to the Potsdam High School Drama Club.
