POTSDAM – The Potsdam Farmers’ Market “Summer Kick-off" event will be held Saturday June 27, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. behind the municipal lot near Ives Park.
"This event will offer activities like radish toss, hula hooping and a market themed scavenger hunt for all kids and the kid-at-heart.” said Laura Popielski, Market manager.
Participants get three chances to toss a radish in one of the jars with in-season produce in it to win a prize.
“Parents can pick up some recipe ideas from the manager tent and everyone can ‘guess the number of beans’ to win a gift certificate to the market. Be sure to check out the goods available for purchase from our local producers as well," she said
Shoppers can enjoy browsing booths of fresh, local vegetables, eggs, meats, wines, baked goods, jams and jellies, herbs and starter plants, honey, flowers, and unique crafts of all kinds.
“We’ve just begun the summer season in the North Country, so this event will be a great way for people to get out of the house and see what the local producers in their community have been up to," Popielski said.
