POTSDAM – Families in need in the Potsdam area can get donations of household necessities such as dish soap and toilet paper.
They will be able to pick these things up at Trinity Church, Maple Street, Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m.
The Colony of Kappa Delta Chi sorority at Clarkson University’s new service initiative is designed to help people in poverty in the area.
According to sorority Vice-President Deanna Hauser, the initiative involves giving boxes of basic necessities such as dish soap, toilet paper, napkins, and so forth to people who are in true need of them.
“We were hoping to spread the word to make sure that if a family is in need of these items, they know that these boxes are available to them free of cost,” Hauser said.
“Also, we are hoping that some of the people who see this that are not in need may think about donating products and whatnot,” she said.
Anyone who would like to donate can email clarkson.service@kappadeltachi.org to arrange a pickup time or a site to drop the items off.
A second event is planned for the last weekend in March.
