POTSDAM -- Potsdam Community Chorus is recruiting singers from the North Country for the spring season, which begins with the first rehearsal Monday, Jan. 30.
All voice parts are welcome. Dues are waived for first-time community members; the dues remain at $25 for returnees. Students do not pay dues.
Rehearsals are from 7-9:30 p.m. Mondays in Room C107 of Bishop Hall at the Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam. Singers are asked to arrive early on the 30th to sign in and pay dues. Music is available from the college bookstore, located in Barrington Student Union.
Led by musical director and conductor Dr. Nils Klykken of the Crane faculty, PCC will be preparing for an April 23 concert of works that will guide us out of the dark of winter and into the light of springtime.
Composers include Brahms, Billings, Ned Rorem, Bartok, Randall Thompson, Samuel Barber and Morten Lauidsen.
