POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Community Band will begin rehearsals in its preparation for its upcoming summer concerts.
The band will be performing as part of Potsdam Summer Festival on Friday, July 13, 6:30 - 8 p.m. at the Ives Park Gazebo.
The late-summer concert is Sunday, Aug. 26, at 2 p.m. on the lawn outside of Potsdam High School.
New and returning members are required to attend at least three rehearsals in order to play each concert.
The rehearsals will be led by Potsdam High School band director Theresa Witmer.
Membership in the band is open to all adults who play traditional wind instruments including woodwinds, brasswinds, and percussion. High school aged musicians may participate with a recommendation from their own music teacher.
Rehearsals for the band’s Summer Festival Concert are scheduled on Mondays, June 11, 18, 25, and July 2 and 9.
The June 11 rehearsal will be at the Crane School of Music Snell Theatre stage. Please park in lot 6 (adjacent to Snell) and enter Schuette Hall.
Rehearsals for the late summer concert will be on Mondays, August 6, 13, and 20. A dress rehearsal will be held on Thursday August 23.
