POTSDAM -- Clarkson University will commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day with an African Heritage Appreciation celebration Jan. 20 from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Student Center.
The event will include speakers, drummers and dancing, a music workshop, a multi-media show and food samples. Free samples of African food and tea, as well as information about the Sustainable Solutions for the Developing World minor will be available.
The evening meal in the Student Center Servery will feature a station with African cuisine, as well as a multi-media show in the dining hall about a trip to Africa.
African drummers and dancers will take the stage at 7 p.m., followed by an African drum and music workshop at 8 p.m.
