POTSDAM -- The students of the Clarkson University Adirondack semester program will present their semester’s research on "Sustainable Agriculture in the Adirondacks" on Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 10 a.m. in Clarkson's Moore House Pavilion.
Clarkson students investigated the feasibility of converting the Oval Wooden Dish Facility in Tupper Lake into an indoor hydroponic growing facility. They have created a potential layout for the upwards of 100,000-square-foot space that meets the goals laid out in the Tupper Lake Revitalization Strategy and Action Plan. The envisaged space will act as both a food production center and food hub and agricultural center for local food producers.
The presentation will last approximately one hour with time for questions at the end. Those interested can show up at 9:30 a.m. for refreshments, and to meet the students and faculty.
