POTSDAM -- A baking workshop for children will be held April 23 at the University Bookstore, 39 Market St., from 12:30 until 2 p.m.
Baker Chris Affre, from the Carriage House Bakery at the Potsdam Food Co-op, will lead children on a baking adventure.
The program begins with an explanation of baking and the importance of healthy, nutritious ingredients.
Kids get to create their own culinary creations.
After they are finished building their feast, into the wood-fired oven it goes.
There is time for questions and answers throughout the activity, with cleaning-up being part of the process.
Kids are asked to bring their own smocks (or a shirt that can get messy) and a hat.
The bakery provides gloves. Parents are welcomed, and encouraged, to stay with their children.
The event is hosted through the North Country Children’s Museum.
The cost is $10.
Register at 267-2167 or clear@potsdam.edu.
Walk-ins welcome if space permits.
