POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Brass Quintet is celebrating its 50th anniversary at SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music this year.
In honor of that milestone, the quintet will perform three concerts of the works of composter Anthony Plog and host him during a residency at the school.
The group will perform "Polychromes," in a special 50th anniversary concert on Monday, April 23 at 7:30 p.m., in the Sara M. Snell Music Theatre.
A luncheon to mark the quintet’s anniversary will be held at noon on Tuesday, April 24, followed later by a recital devoted entirely to Plog's music, performed by 40 Crane students in a variety of ensembles, in Snell Theater at 7:30 p.m.
The quintet will perform other Plog works with the Crane Wind Ensemble Wednesday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m., in the Helen M. Hosmer Concert Hall.
All concerts are free, and the public is invited to attend.
