CHIPPEWA BAY – The Potsdam-based band Northbound will provide the final performance to the second annual Chippewa Bay Community Club's Friday Evening Summer Concert Series Aug. 11, starting at 6:30 p.m.
The performance will be staged at the club in Chippewa Bay next to the post office, 1172 County Route 6. The public is invited to this free event.
Bring a lawn chair and listen to the amazing blend of music they perform that spans a wide variety of musical tastes like folk, acoustic, classic rock.
The band has been influenced by great singer-songwriters of the 1950's through today including James Taylor, Paul Simon, John Foggerty, and The Beatles.
Members of Northbound are Michael Welch (guitar, vocals), Andy Van Duyne (guitar, vocals), Don Canemela (bass, vocals), Larry Baycura (drums), Chip Lamson (keyboards, vocals) and Tim Savage (saxophone).
The core of "Northbound" goes back over 10 years, and the current configuration has performed concerts and shows at many venues around the North Country, and Upstate New York.
This year’s concert series is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts, administered by the St. Lawrence County Arts Council.
