POTSDAM -- Local author Marguerite Mooers of Potsdam has written her first novel, the story of Detective Chris Bellini who is raising his six year old grand-daughter and trying to solve the cold case of murdered child Ethan LeBrun.
While Chris is working to solve the case locally, Lorna Watson, who teaches in a medium security prison, reads an essay written by a student that details the kidnapping of a child.
Did this inmate kidnap and kill Ethan? When Bellini interviews the inmate, he learns that Ethan's killer still at large and that in pushing forward with the investigation, he is putting not only his own life, but that of his grand-daughter at risk.
Marguerite (Peggy) Mooers will sign copies of "Take My Hand" at the SLU Brewer Bookstore, Park Street in Canton on Oct. 18 from 1 to 3 p.m. and at the University Bookstore, 39 Market St. in Potsdam on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.
