CANTON -- Sara Lynch of Potsdam will be the featured artist during a special exhibition at the Traditional Arts in Upstate New York (TAUNY) Center, 53 Main St., Saturday, Jan. 7.
Paintings and pottery by Lynch, with an artist meet-and-greet, will be held from 1-3 p.m.
This exhibit, the first of 2017’s Folkstore Artist Spotlight series, will remain on display until the end of February.
The artist’s work includes a variety of landscape and local scene paintings on unexpected canvases, as well as usable pottery with animal depictions. All artwork on display at the TAUNY Center will be for sale.
Lynch was born and raised in Potsdam, and earned a bachelor’s degree in ceramics and painting from Alfred University. Lynch returned to Potsdam to start a studio at the St. Lawrence Arts Council in Old Snell Hall, and recently received a grant to purchase and install a ceramics kiln there.
This event is free and open to the public.
