MASSENA -- The St. Lawrence Seaway Polar Plunge, one of the largest fundraisers for Special Olympics New York in the North Country, is set for noon Saturday at Hawkins Point Visitors Center at Moses State Park.
Registration begins at 9 a.m.
Each year, plungers raise money for the athletes of Special Olympics New York by asking family, friends, co-workers, and others to support their efforts. Then they take a dip or a slow crawl into chilly waters. Every plunger that raises $100 receives an official plunge sweatshirt.
Special Olympics New York has nearly 56,000 athletes train and compete year-round in 22 sports at no cost to the athlete, their families or caregivers.
