POTSDAM -- Piano faculty and students from SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music will present an evening of transcriptions for solo piano on Tuesday, March 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater.
The concert, titled "Transfigured Sounds," will include famous transcriptions for solo piano by Liszt, Grainger and more. The program highlights some of the great transcriptions and paraphrases for solo piano, of works by composers ranging from Bach to Rachmaninoff.
Faculty performers will include Gary Busch, François Germain and Eugenia Tsarov. Student pianists include Ryan Blunt, Mitchell Brownell, Daniel Conroy, Francesca Hilditch, AJ Long, Christopher Sarkis, Matthew Schlicht and Christian Verfenstein.
This concert is free, and the public is invited to attend.
