POTSDAM -- Community Performance Series will present the Phoenix Boys Choir Tour Choir 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 17 in Hosmer Concert Hall at SUNY Potsdam.
The event is free and open to the public. A goodwill offering will be accepted to benefit the choir.
The Phoenix Boys Choir Tour Choir is on a nine-city tour of the St. Lawrence Seaway from June 3 to 20, traveling to Toronto, Kingston, Ottawa Montreal, Trois Rivieres and Buffalo as well as Potsdam.
The world-renowned 32-member choir will perform classical and sacred songs, plus special repertoire unique to the tour.
Each summer, the Tour Choir, the top choir of the Phoenix Boys Choir, travels on a three-week domestic or international tour to introduce the boys to new cultures and enhance their self-responsibility.
Founded in 1947, the Phoenix Boys Choir has programs featuring training in voice, music theory, and performance for boys aged 7 to 14. Currently, there are 150 boys participating, making it one of the largest and most active boy choirs in the U.S. For more information, visit www.phoenixboyschoir.com.
