CANTON -- The Petty Open will be held at the St. Lawrence Country Club Thursday, June 27, with a shotgun start at 10 a.m.
The open will honor Don Petty and nine “Wounded Warriors,” with 150 golfers expected to participate.
Brian Leonard will give an award to the “top” football player in Section X.
A ceremony will follow the open at 2:30 p.m., with mementos for the honorees.
USGA rules will apply. Teams will play in groups of four. Teams will use the group’s best ball, until the ball is holed or use rule four.
Players under age 65 will play from the white tees, while those age 65 and over will play from the brown tee, with age 70 and up at the gold tee. Wounded Warriors may choose their tee.
To help expedite play if a team does not make the initial putt, pick up the ball and score the hole as if two putts were taken.
