CANTON - Bill MacKently, owner of St. Lawrence Nurseries in Potsdam, will lead a session on permaculture gardens at St. Lawrence University at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 14, in the Common Room of Sykes Residence Hall. It is free.

A permaculture garden is being planned at the university. A long-term goal of the project is to have the garden develop into an outdoor classroom, and have a connection to the Canton community through workshops, lectures and events held on the site.

MacKently is an expert on permaculture and will address its philosophy, design principle and growing global movement.
