POTSDAM -- Pendragon Theatre will bring Tennessee William's classic play, "The Glass Menagerie," to SUNY Potsdam for an upcoming residency.

The play will be offered on Friday, Sept. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the Proscenium Theater, located in SUNY Potsdam's Performing Arts Center.

Known as one of the most enduring classics of our time, "The Glass Menagerie" catapulted Williams from obscurity to fame after its original premiere in 1944.

Directed by Executive Artistic Director Karen Lordi-Kirkham, the Pendragon Theatre production is a memory play that presents the story of Tom Wingfield and his need to put the ghosts of his past to rest. "The Glass Menagerie" revolves around the fragility of our dreams, the power of our illusions and the complicated nature of our family connections.

Award-winning actress Beth Glover will return to Pendragon to play the matriarch, Amanda. Glover last performed at Pendragon three years ago as Blanche DuBois in "A Streetcar Named Desire." Based out of New York City and living part-time in Saranac Lake, N.Y., she most recently played the Wicked Stepmother in the touring production of the Tony Award-winning musical, "Cinderella."

Other cast members include SUNY Potsdam theatre alumnus Miles River Willow '15 as the protagonist Tom, Liv Paulson as Laura and Dylan Duffy as Jim, the gentleman caller.

Tickets are $15 for general admission, $10 for SUNY Potsdam faculty, staff and students, and $8 for senior citizens and youth.

Tickets: 267-2277 or www.cpspotsdam.org, or visit the box office, located in the PAC lobby.
