POTSDAM – Peak Moment TV, WCKN, Time Warner Cable channel 30, host Janaia Donaldson continues her visit with Nash Huber Feb. 10-11 at 7 p.m.
Donaldson speaks with Huber, a farmer of over fourty years, works in Washington State’s northeast Olympic Peninsula by cultivating backyard gardens and many relationships, who grows healthy plants, soil and seeds.
He saves seeds from plants that are best suited to local growing conditions. That proves how he developed his own variety of purple kale. He rotates crops in various plots, so soil can be given a rest and replenish any depleted nutrients.
As for future farmers, Nash says it takes ten years minimum for young folks to learn how to farm, all hands-on, of course. Learn more at www.nashsorganicproduce.com.
