MORRISTOWN -- The Gateway Museum here will present Paul Meyers’ World on a String, a trio which includes Meyers on guitar, Vanderlei Pereira on drums, and Leo Traversa on electric bass, Monday, July 17, at 7 p.m.

The group plays jazz, as well as Brazilian music.

Meyers, who has led World on a String for more than ten years, is originally from New York City, but spent several years in the North Country, and attended Potsdam High School, and then Crane School of Music for two years before leaving the area.

He enjoys returning to the North Country and reconnecting with his roots.

The group’s drummer, Vanderlei Pereira, is originally from Rio de Janeiro and brings a vast knowledge of Brazilian and Afro-Cuban rhythms to the group.

Leo Traversa, the bass player, is a veteran player of these styles and is also well versed in African music.

The concert will take place at the gazebo in Chapman Park.

In case of rain, the concert will be moved to the Gateway Museum on Main Street.
