COLTON -- Zion Episcopal Church will host a free concert by Pastor Marty Wendell, singer-songwriter, musician at the Colton Gazebo at 6:30 pm on Saturday, Aug. 8.
This will be a 50-year retrospective acoustic concert featuring the highlights of Wendell’s years in music, allowing listeners to hear him share in an intimate setting the songs and stories that have been a part of his career as a singer, songwriter, and recording artist.
In recent years, Wendell received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. His experience includes opening for such artists as Johnny Cash, the Statler Brothers, and Arlo Guthrie. Beverages and snacks will be available near the Gazebo by Zion Episcopal Church. The rain location will be at Zion Episcopal Church.
He will also be the guest celebrant at Zion Church on the regular Sunday service at 9:30 a.m.
