DEPEYSTER -- The 25th DePeyster Festival will be Aug. 9 and Aug. 10 this year, with highlights to include a baby contest, frog jumping, a parade, a nail-driving contest, cake walk, and pie throwing contest.
All events will be at the festival grounds, County Route 10, unless otherwise specified.
The festival will kick off Friday, Aug. 9 with a 5 p.m. flag raising followed by an ice cream social at 5:30 p.m. and music with Pure Country until 8:30 p.m.
Saturday’s events will include a baby contest from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., frog jumping from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The parade will be at noon, followed by a Julie’s dance studio from 12:45 to 1:30 p.m. and the nail driving contest from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Saturday will also include the cakewalk from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., a 3:30 p.m. pie throwing contest, and a 4 p.m. chicken barbeque.
Following the chicken barbeque, an “impromptu” at 5 p.m., followed by a 6 p.m. talent show and a youth dance at the Masonic Hall. At 7 p.m. “Boon” will perform.
A silent auction and drawings for a 50/50 raffle will be at 8 p.m., followed by a block dance with DJV.
An ice cream social, silent auction, children’s games, and craft tables will run all day Saturday.
The festival will wrap up Sunday with a 10:30 a.m. “old home days” at the Methodist Church, followed by a covered dish dinner.
