AKWESASNE -- The semi-pro football team Seaway Valley Venom will host a pancake breakfast Jan. 9 from 8 a.m. to noon at Kateri Hall.
Proceeds will help the team with their 2016 season.
Radio station CKON will broadcast live from 9 to 10 a.m.
Cost is $5 and free for under age six.
Breakfast includes pancakes, syrup, hashbrowns, sausage, juice and coffee.
There will be $5 raffle tickets for a prize of four tickets to see the Clarkson Golden Knights play the St. Lawrence University Saints on Jan. 12.
The winner will be announced at the end of the event.
The team will also sign players. People must be at least 18 years old to be eligible.
“Our fundraising goal is $1,000 for this event,” Venom President Elijah Winfrey said in a prepared statement. “I personally would like to thank the community for all of the support they have given these players so far and ask that our community continue to support our fundraising efforts.”
