OGDENSBURG -- Over 130 anglers are expected to partake in the July 17 NYS B.A.S.S. Chapter Federation Tournament (NYBCF) at the Dobisky Center.
There will also be a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and vandors.
This tournament is made possible through a NYS Empire State Development (ESD) grant as part of funding awarded to the city through Sen. Patty Ritchie’s office to promote fishing and tourism.
The chamber expects it to have a six-figure local economic impact.
“These fishermen and their families will stay in our hotels, eat in our restaurants, shop in our stores making gas and food purchases,” the chamber said in a news release. “This tournament has a potential to economically impact the area by $171,600 with direct and indirect dollars.”
The chamber says they seek more vendors for the tournament. Anyone interested can call 393-3620.
