WADDINGTON -- Christmas in Waddington will present organist, Sondra Goldsmith Proctor as she performs in the event’s “Let Christmas Begin Concert at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Dec. 3 at 4 p.m.

The concert is free and open to the public.

Proctor is musician-in-residence at St. Lawrence University where she performs for major campus events as well as directs Ad Hoc Singers, a chamber ensemble, and the St. Lawrence University Children’s Chorus.

She has performed throughout the East Coast, Europe, and the Caribbean.

Proctor has been conductor-in-residence for The American University in Washington, D.C.

She served as director of music and arts for Westmoreland Congregational United Church of Christ for almost 30 years.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts was the base for two groups for which was associate director and keyboard artist.

The beginning of the concert will be signaled by the ringing of the church bells in Waddington from 3:40 to 3:45 p.m.

Joining Proctor for the “Let Christmas Begin Concert” will be special performances by youth from the Waddington community, including the Madrid-Waddington High School Select Chorus under the direction of Brianne Sterling, and the Kids Club, a group of children from the non-denominational after-school program at United Church of Madrid. Local musician Amy Rivera will also perform. The concert will conclude with a candle lighting service.
