POTSDAM – The Orchestra of Northern New York’s Baroque Orchestra and conductor Kenneth Andrews will stage the concert The Magnificent Baroque on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 3 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church.
Tickets for the performance are on sale now.
The orchestra will also perform the concert on Feb. 9 in Watertown.
The Baroque Orchestra of the Orchestra of Northern New York will present an exquisite concert of music from the golden age of the Baroque period, featuring John Ellis and James Madeja on trumpets, oboist Anna Hendrickson, violinist John Lindsey, and the virtuoso members of the 2019 Baroque Orchestra.
The concert features brilliant trumpets and drums as well as virtuosic woodwinds and strings performing Bach’s Sinfonia from the Easter Oratorio, Charpentier’s Prelude to Te Deum and Handel’s Selections from Rinaldo and King Arthur Concerto Grosso from Op. 6 No. 12. The orchestra will also perform Purcell’s Music for the Duke of Gloucester’s Birthday Chacony in G Minor and Telemann’s Concerto for 3 Trumpets, 2 Oboes, Timpani and Strings.

Costs: adults $25, seniors (62+) and military $20, college students with ID $10, students (under 18) free.
Future scheduled performances of the orchestra include the Harry Potter Spectacular March 24 at 3 p.m.; and Broadway on Demand on July 3 at 8 p.m., both at SUNY Potsdam’s Hosmer Hall
