POTSDAM -- The community is encouraged to clean out their "treasures" from the attic to the basement and closets to the garage to support the North Country's only professional, year-round symphony orchestra.
Donations are needed for the annual Symphony Junque Sale, a garage sale too large to fit in a garage, which will be held at the Pine Street Arena during the Potsdam Summer Festival on Saturday, July 14.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Orchestra of Northern New York.
The group's biggest annual fundraiser has a few important changes this year. There is no advance storage location for sale items, so donations may be dropped off at the arena from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, July 12, and from 2-7 p.m., Friday, July 13.
The sale will take place on Saturday, July 14 from 9 a.m.-1 pm.
Another important change is the offering of a noon bag sale. Plastic grocery bags will be distributed to all attendees who can fill the bag for only $5, from noon-1 p.m. All items must go, so special discounts will also be offered during the last hour.
